Wayne Wood

We are profoundly sad to relay the passing of Wayne B. Wood. Peacefully at Extendicare Haliburton on Thursday July 6, 2023, with his granddaughter at his side. Wayne was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Wood (2001) and Wyona  Consack (2016). Loving father of Melinda (Michael), Wendy, Nancy, Karl Consack (Irene), and Rod Consack (Molly). Brother of Wendell Wood. Special uncle to Rick and Kathy. Loved by his grandchildren Lyndsey, Jennifer, Kimberley (Mallory), Harry (Chrissy), Stephanie (Jon), Christopher, Stuart (J'aime), and Abigail. He was blessed to have many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Wayne worked for Dysart et al for 30-plus years. He was instrumental in the development and progress of Haliburton Village and County. He was a pioneer in the paramedic services in the primary years, leading up to where EMS is today. He was an intelligent and kind man. He will be missed dearly.

Friends are invited to call at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-9209 on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 for a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11 o'clock. (Visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.). Interment at Evergreen Cemetery Haliburton. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation, Dysart Fire Department or Extendicare - Proud Pioneers would be greatly appreciated by the family.
