Wayne Rutter Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Wayne Rutter announce his peaceful passing and his entrance into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Wayne was born on April 25, 1938, in Coboconk, Ontario, to the late Thomas and Ruth Rutter. Throughout his 88 years, Wayne lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, service to others, and a strong commitment to hard work.

Wayne was the cherished husband of Beryl Rutter (nee Stamp) for 62 blessed years. They met while they were both employed at the Wilberforce Veneer and Lumber Company. After a brief courtship, they were married on June 6th,1964, and together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and Christian values.

He was a loving and devoted father to Melanie Storey (Elwood) and Mike Rutter (Tammy) and a proud grandfather to Lauren Warren (Brennan), Emma, Destiny, and Brayden. He was predeceased by his brothers Arnold, Harold, and Garnet and his three sisters Isobel, Ruth and Ethel who died in infancy.  Wayne treasured every moment spent with his family and was a source of wisdom, encouragement, and steadfast support throughout their lives.

Wayne was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Wayne loved spending time with his church family and, in later years, the walking group. His kindness, gentle humour, and genuine interest in others created lasting memories for all who knew him.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Wayne faithfully served as Pastor of Wilberforce Full Gospel Church, where he dedicated many years to preaching the Gospel and sharing the love of Christ. His faith was not only spoken from the pulpit but lived daily through his compassion, humility, and willingness to help those in need.

Wayne's strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. He worked in a variety of occupations, including septic tank pumping, study hall supervisor at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School, and a variety of jobs at Wilberforce Veneer.

While his family grieves his loss, they rejoice in the assurance that Wayne is now at peace in the presence of his Saviour.
