Stephen Wiggin (Sydney) was called Home by Our Father in Heaven on May 14, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his partner of 23 years, Margaret Hannah. Loving Father to Karen (Mick) Frybort) and Stephen (Pat). Granddad to Adam, Alex (Mychaila), Jesse (Austen), Christopher (Kaleigh), Nicholas (Teddi), Chelsie. Loved as GG by great-grandkids Jakub, Vienna, Nolan, Clark, Kinsley, Milana (Milly), Lennon (Lenny), Josie-Rae, Walker and Wesley. Survived by youngest sister, Valerie (Malcolm). Pre-deceased by his loving and devoted wife Jean (nee Barrows), his brother Dennis (Val) and by his sister Joyce (Gerry).
Staunch, Patriotic and Loyal to Great Britain, Steve served in the Merchant Navy and then entered training as a Coldstream Guard, (formed in 1650). “Nulli Secundus” or “Second to None” is the Coldstream Motto and this commitment to character was never compromised. Those days of his life were reflected upon often, and perhaps was his favorite era. Structure, Precision, Discipline, Courage, Honor.
One of the Coldstream roles was Protection of the Monarchy. Therefore, to this day, the Coldstream Guards are present in the “Trooping of the Color” Ceremonies (otherwise known as “The King’s/Queen’s Birthday Parade”). Amongst other regiment standards, Coldstreams are identifiable by a red plume on the right side of the Bearskin. Lots of Pomp and Pageantry; one would not dare interrupt this annual viewing, plus if anyone stepped in front of the screen when football (soccer) was on, particularly Aston Villa, they were told to “Get off the Pitch!”
Stephen was a gifted Artist, some work exhibited in National Museums; one particular oil painting went on National Tour and was then purchased for a Private Collection. He lived 91 years. He filled them with loving the hard way, uncompromising standards and a legacy of sayings that the family regularly quotes. His many brushstrokes remind us that life has dark, ominous clouds that obscure our journey, but… there are also moments of unparalleled, astonishing beauty.

"The Lord is my Shepherd; l shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, l will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and staff, they comfort me. You preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23
