Shannon "Sha" Winterburn

Shannon Elizabeth "Sha" Winterburn, of Kinmount, Ontario, died in Peterborough Hospital on April 15th in her 74th year.

Born and raised in Ottawa,  Sha also lived in Scarborough, Kawartha Lakes, the Yukon, and back to Kawartha Lakes by the mid-1990s. Sha was predeceased by her husband, Doug Winterburn, and her parents, Daniel and Lorna Green (nee Donaldson).

She leaves behind her honourary grandchildren, Ireland, Holland, and Hudson, as well as dear friends, Maxine and Larry, Lucy, Robert, Jennifer, Lexanne, Romeo, Vic, and Carol.

Sha loved dogs, and when she no longer had her own, she began many years of pet-sitting for others. Sha had a talent for needlepoint and cross-stitch, ensuring close friends received a new one each Christmas.

Her friends would like to thank the Peterborough ICU Nurses and Doctors for the care and compassion shown to Sha during her stay.

Private Funeral Arrangements

Funeral arrangements are private. As per Sha’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Sha’s memory can be made to the Kinmount and Area Food Bank, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the COBOCONK COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 6644 Hwy. #35 Coboconk, Ontario (705) 454-3913.
