It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robert T. Stinson on May 25th at Highland Wood in his beloved town of Haliburton. Just shy of his 93rd birthday, Bob (Tex/The Silver Fox) was with his wife of almost 70 years (Joan Stinson) and his daughter, Lorri, and son Larry. Bob was a beloved resident at Highland Wood for just over 3 years and enjoyed the caring, kind, and funny staff that never failed to make him smile.  Although he faced many losses in his last few years, he was always able to appreciate family and friend visits, outings organized by the long-term care, and even wheelchair adventures with his grandson-in-law Job in the dead of winter.  He will be remembered for his spirit for life, his love for family and his community, volunteerism, and unending faith that the Leafs would win the cup.

Bob will be greatly missed by his wife, Joan, his daughter, Lorri Roberts (Lindsay), his son, Larry Stinson (Sue), and Deanna Wootton (Barry). Beloved grandfather to Allison Roberts (Brady), Emily Simons (Job), Jessica Melrose (Ryan), James Roberts, Evan Stinson (Kayla), Thomas Stinson (Caliegh), Jordan Roberts, Alex Stinson (Shawn), and Craig Hasler. Bob will also be lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Isaac, Felix, Thomas, Huck, Jet, Evelyn, Hugo, Tommy, Lola, Owen, and Milo

Visitation & Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Bob’s life will take place at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 13523 Hwy. #118 Haliburton, ON K0M 1S0 (705) 457-9209 on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation 1 hour prior. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
