Peter Coupland

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter “Pete” Coupland, who left us peacefully on January 16, 2025 in his 75th year. Pete was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose kindness and laughter left a mark on all who knew him.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his children Rodney (Sharon), Bryan, and Connie (Jeff); and Margaret’s sons, Jordan (Hope) and Chris (Jewel). He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Spencer, Morgan, Rylee, Logan, Ethan, and Emily.

Pete will be deeply missed by his siblings Dale (Teresa) and Evelyn (Rick), as well as his favorite cousin and close confidant, Margaret Burwell. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Coulpand (née Wollan), and his parents, George and Edith.

Pete’s passions were as vast as his generous spirit. For years, he loved hunting and cherished the time he spent fishing at Head Lake with his brother Dale. A proud and active member of the Legion, Pete enjoyed playing darts and cards with his friends, where his competitive spirit and good humor always shone through. He could often be found on the front patio, waving to neighbors, chatting with passersby, and embracing the simple joys of connection and community. He delighted in traveling, laughing with friends, and making memories wherever he went.

Pete’s warmth, love for life, and ability to bring joy to those around him will never be forgotten. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 519 2916 County Rd 48, Coboconk, ON on Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2025 beginning at 1:00. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Pete’s memory can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #519. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the COBOCONK COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 6644 Hwy #35 Coboconk, Ontario K0M 1K0 (705)-454-3913.
