Patricia "Pat" Williams (nee Roberts) Obituary
Peacefully in Haliburton in her 85th year, Patricia “Pat” Williams (nee Roberts). Pat was a warm and welcoming presence in the lives of those around her. Loving mother of Barbara (Roger) and Michael. Beloved sister of Peter (Jackie), Diane (Eric), Celia (Bill), and Alan (Nancy). Pat was also a devoted grandmother to Tori and Connor (Beth). Predeceased by her parents Frank and Beatrice Roberts and by her husband Jim Williams. Pat was the most generous and positive person this world has ever known. She always had a smile and laughed often. A very social person, she absolutely loved entertaining and gatherings with family and friends. She really lived by the motto “the more the merrier”.
If you were lucky enough to meet Pat, whether for just a moment or many years, you experienced what true joy and loving warmth felt like. From the local convenience store owner in Buckhorn to the dedicated nurses at Haliburton Hospital, everyone who met her would smile and say, “Pat is our favourite.” She left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, spreading kindness and light wherever she went. When it came to staying connected, Pat was always the first to show her support and encouragement on Facebook. If you were lucky enough to be in her circle of friends and family, you could count on her quick reactions, heartfelt comments, and uplifting messages, all at legendary lightning speed.
Pat spent 35 years working for IBM and was perhaps the most tech-savvy octogenarian you could ever meet. Known affectionately by her family as “the IT Department,” she never met a gadget she couldn’t master. Being proudly British, Pat’s sharp wit and humor were unmatched, as was her legendary shepherd’s pie recipe.
Pat’s excitement about the world was driven by her boundless lust for life and unwavering positivity. From the beaches of Hawaii to the wonders of Dubai, she embraced every experience with an open heart and an infectious enthusiasm. For Pat, it wasn’t just about seeing new places—it was about celebrating life’s beauty, connecting with people, and finding joy in every moment. Her spirit of curiosity and optimism inspired those around her to see the world through the same bright and hopeful lens.
Words cannot fully capture how generous, kind, and extraordinary Pat was. She brought joy to everyone she touched and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
