Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Haliburton Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in her 95th year.
Born on Valentine’s Day, 1932, to Geoffrey and Gwendoline Mitchell. Beloved wife of Derek Rolfe (Predeceased). Loving Mother of Paul and David (Julie). Pamela will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Bronwen and Derek Kenneth, as well as her great-granddaughter, Norah.
Pamela was a longtime bookkeeper of Carnarvon Lumber and was an early volunteer of the Stanhope Airport Committee. Pam was also a proud member of the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario. Pam was a Girl Guide Leader in both the UK and Canada. In her younger years, she was a columnist for the Richmond Hill Liberal Newspaper, covering events and news in Maple. Pamela’s warmth, love for life, and ability to bring joy to those around her will never be forgotten. She will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Celebration of Life
As per Pam’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in May; details to be announced. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Pamela's memory can be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, or Parkinson Canada.
