Michael "Mike" Rowell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Rowell, who left us peacefully on November 3rd, 2025, in his 79th year. Born on July 24, 1946, in East York to his parents, Herbert and Kathleen. Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose kindness and laughter left a mark on all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Susan, with whom he shared almost 60 years of a beautiful marriage. Mike is also remembered by his children, Sheila (Larry – predeceased), Steven (Sue), and Melissa (Eric). He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Glenn, Steve, Juniper, and Christopher, and he was a beloved great-grandfather to Mason. Mike was predeceased by his sister, Mavourneen, and his closest friend and confidant, Dave.

Mike and Susan moved to Eagle Lake in 1978 and never looked back. He was overjoyed to be able to raise his three children here. No stranger to the outdoors, Mike and Susan took many camping trips together in their boler trailer. A proud and active member of the West Guilford Baptist Church, Mike enjoyed being a part of the church group. Mike could often be found engaging in his favourite activity, grocery shopping at Todd’s Independent, especially when it meant being able to drive around on the motorized shopping carts. Most of all, Mike lived for his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were some of the most important people in his life.

Mike’s warmth, love for life, and ability to bring joy to those around him will never be forgotten. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
