Michael Thomas Irwin passed away suddenly in Haliburton on June 29, 2023. Mike was a teacher for over 25 years and dedicated his career to educating students with additional needs. He spent the majority of this time with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board at Hillcrest Public School in Campbellford. Mike was a long-time supporter of the Nature Conservancy of Canada and a proud volunteer and advocate for all things environmental. His love for the outdoors, golf, water sports (windsurfing, kayaking, waterskiing), and helping others were the mainstays of his day-to-day.
He leaves behind a legacy as a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher, coach, advocate, and friend. He was the loving son of the late Thomas (Tye) Irwin and Patricia (nee Bishop), brother of the late David Irwin, and father of Thomas, Heather (Brad), and Peter. As a grandpa, he will be loved and remembered by Brooklyn (his ‘little sweetie’). Mike will be missed greatly by his brothers Tim, John, and Patrick (Lori), his sister, Beth, his nephews and niece William (Meg), Adam, Ethan, and Grace, and his former spouse, Kathy.
