Luella Madill (nee Hogan) Obituary

Peacefully, surrounded by family, at Extendicare Haliburton on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, in her 90th year.

Beloved wife of the late Alfred Madill. Loving mother of Mary Ann Strickland (Charlie). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Megan, Riley, and Jordan. Luella was the youngest of 13 children born to Tom and Mary Ann Hogan.

Dear sister of Viola (Jimmy – Predeceased) and sister-in-law of Faye (Walter – predeceased). Predeceased by her siblings Bernie, Ewart (Luella), Clem (Dorothy), Alphonse (Mabel), Irene (Roy), Julia (Tommy), Marie (Emmerson), Bridget (Jack), Leo (Faye), Mike (Lorraine), and M.J. Also predeceased by her brothers-in-law Willy (Hazel), Ross (Dolly), and Gordon (Ruby) and her sister-in-law Ruby Alden (Harold).

Born on July 1, 1936, in Highland Grove, Luella happily spent her whole life in the Haliburton Highlands. Luella lived a life deeply rooted in her faith; she was a proud and devoted member of the St. Anthony of Padua Mission Church in Haliburton for many years. She could often be found playing Bingo, crocheting, or spending time with her family. Luella was an animal lover, most notably when it came to cats and dogs. She especially loved going out to restaurants for dinner, even if she often spoiled her appetite with chips beforehand.

Luella’s warmth, love for life and family, and the ability to bring joy to those around her will never be forgotten
