Obituary

With great sadness, the family of Lloyd Kollaard announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Lloyd was born in Utrecht, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1953. He was a loving husband to Mary (McQuoid) for nearly 60 years; father to Debbie Dowson (Brian) and Susanne Murchison (Mark) and Opa to Chelsea (Ryan), Mackenzie (Emmett), Sydney (Ryan) and Angus (Bridie).

Predeceased by his father and brother George. Lloyd is survived by his mother Grace, brothers Robert, Mike and sister Betty. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd loved fishing and hunting, being out on his boat and never hesitated to help a friend or neighbour. Lloyd’s storytelling of his adventures will also be missed, sometimes it was the same story, but always guaranteed to make you laugh.

As per Lloyd’s wishes, there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham.
