Linda Baker (nee Guest)

Our beautiful Linda passed away at Hyland Crest on October 17, 2021 after a lengthy fight against an unforgiving illness. She is survived by her husband and partner of 45 years, David, her step-son Michael, beloved grandson Dominic, sisters Jude (Gerald), Pat (Malcom), numerous nieces and nephews, and her special brother in-law Michael (Kathy) who was so much help in Linda’s final months.

Linda was one of four Guest girls born and raised in St Catharines Ontario. She moved to Montreal as a young bride and met David after her first marriage ended. Linda worked in mortgage accounting for two large insurance companies while David pursued an investment career. For 25 years their life was largely devoted to friends and lake front living on Lac Notre Dame in the Laurentians. Retirement on Little Redstone Lake in 2012, was a natural next step in their desire to be closer to family in Ontario.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 13523 Hwy #118 Haliburton, Ontario 705-457-9209. Much heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hyland Crest and a special thank you to Lyndsay, Linda’s protective shadow in her last home. Donations in Linda’s memory to the Hyland Crest Family Council would be appreciated by the family.
