Laura Overton

Laura passed peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at the age of 63. Beloved wife of Shaun Overton. Loving mother of Spencer and Alex. Cherished daughter of Terry and Marilyn Mokedanz. Dear sister of Terry-Lynne (Steve), Michael (Angela), and John (Kathy). Also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and extended family members including Kim, Michelle, Rod, and Ian.

Laura spent many years advocating for children to ensure that their needs and exceptionalities were accommodated by the education system, both on her own and through work with ABC and SAGE. She cherished her connections with friends and family and enjoyed expressing her love for them whether through handcrafted cards or elaborately decorated cakes.

She will be sorely missed but warmly remembered.

A Remembrance Gathering

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on June 15th at WEST GUILFORD RECREATION CENTER at 1061 Kennisis Lake Road, West Guilford, ON. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Operation Smile Canada, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), or a charity of your choice would be most appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME  13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-9209.
