Launcelot "Guy" Pritchard

Launcelot “Guy” Pritchard, in the twilight of his 70th year, took his graceful departure on January 13, 2025. Guy shall forever be cherished for his delightful wit and extraordinary tenor voice.

A born entertainer and gifted songwriter, Guy graced local stages, portraying memorable characters such as the Admiral in HMS Pinafore, and shared his talents with Serendipity and at Open Stages. Throughout his illustrious 27-year teaching career and as a cross-country ski coach, he enriched the lives of many.

His absence will be profoundly felt by his beloved wife Laurel, step-daughter April (David), her daughter Ashley (Lewis), great-grandson Rhett, sister Pamela, and brother Geoff (Mychelle). The music community mourns the loss of a true luminary.

Guy's legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him and those who will come to learn of his remarkable contributions. As we remember him, let us celebrate the joy and harmony he brought into our lives, and may his spirit forever resonate in the music he loved so dearly.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Guy’s life will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 from 4 - 6 in THE COMMUNITY ROOM 13523 Hwy #118 Haliburton, Ontario. For those who have stories and memories to share, we invite you to do so at 5:00 pm for our time of remembrance. As an expression of sympathy, please consider making a donation to the Kidney Foundation, Hospice Peterborough, or the HHHS Foundation in Guy’s honour.
