John "Jay" Charles Poyner

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John “Jay” Charles Poyner on April 17, 2025, in his 60th year.

Jay was a beloved father, brother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was the devoted and deeply loved father of Jami, and cherished father-in-law to Ben. He is predeceased by his father, John (Jack) Poyner, and will be lovingly remembered by his sister Julie and by his brother and sister-in-law Lorne and Gabriella, along with their family.

Those who knew Jay will remember his magnetic charisma, quick wit, and humble nature. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life—offering wisdom, humor, and heartfelt kindness wherever he went. He gave the best advice and was always there when someone needed a listening ear or a helping hand.

Jay had a deep love for music and found joy in the simple things, especially time spent outdoors in the sunshine or near the water. Despite facing challenges with a disability, he lived with unwavering strength and resilience, constantly defying expectations and inspiring others by his example.

He was, above all else, an amazing father and a caring, loyal brother. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be felt deeply.

Private Funeral Arrangements
