James "Duncan" Muirhead

On June 16, 2023, James "Duncan" Muirhead died in his sleep at Haliburton Hospital. His cabin on Little Cameron Lake was Duncan's favorite place on Earth, and in his life, he explored many places. There were others of honorable mention, like the Marrakech Medina, his corner sandwich shop in Faro, or the surprisingly well-stocked library of the Gibraltar prison...and one cannot forget the Alpine. He loved nothing more than having a cold Pilsner on his porch and discussing (with galling authority) any and all subjects pertaining to history, philosophy, music, or religion. He loved good food, cowboy movies, and books of all kinds. He lived life entirely on his own terms and held on as long as he possibly could to the only life he could imagine living. His lively stories and absurd humor will be missed by his daughter Phaedra, his son Haemish, and his granddaughter Eva, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Celebration of Life
