Heather Loreen Sleightholm (nee Switzer)

Heather Loreen Sleightholm (nee Switzer) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, November 30th, at the age of 77.

Born on May 21, 1948, in Gooderham, she was the youngest daughter of Wilbert and Alberta Switzer. Heather attended Haliburton High School before moving to Toronto. She lived a life rooted in faith, expressing her beliefs daily through her integrity.

Heather was the beloved wife and best friend of Brent Sleightholm. She was a loving mother to twin daughters Kelly Hines and Stacey Hines, and son Christoper (Chris) Hines (Jaime). She also leaves behind her cherished fur babies, Bella (dog) and Angel (cat).

She will be remembered for her love of engaging political discussions (especially while watching Fox News), navigating her favorite social media apps like TikTok, and creating content for her local Elliot Lake community Facebook page.

Heather was the loving sister of Effie McPherson, Ruby Billings, and the late Hazel Maxwell, and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Funeral Service

Friends and family are invited to call at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, ON K0M 1S0 (705) 457-9209, on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:00 (Noon) for a service in the Chapel (Visitation 2 hours prior). An interment will take place in the Spring in the Gooderham Cemetery. As an expression of your sympathy, flowers are more than encouraged.
