Gloria Irene Bird, 86, passed away April 29th, 2023, at KGH Hospital in Kingston with her son Frank, her daughter-in-law Julie at her side, and her beloved little dog on her lap. Born Gloria Irene MacDonald in Toronto, ON, on September 20th, 1936.
Gloria is survived by her Son Frank Bird and his wife Julie Pelletier of Kingston, ON, and her granddaughters Jamie (Joni Airisto) of Windsor NS, Mackenzie (Joshua Irwin) of Ottawa, ON, and Alex of Montreal, QC.
Gloria loved animals and spending time with her family. Those who knew Gloria knew how generous she was with her time and resources for all her friends, family, and those in need. She was a true animal lover and spent her entire life rescuing and caring for dogs and any wild animal lucky enough to come across her path.
Visitation & Memorial Service
Friends are invited to call at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME at 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-9209 on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11 o'clock for a Funeral Service in the Chapel. (Visitation one hour prior). In keeping with Gloria’s spirit of giving, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s name be made to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre in Napanee, ON.
