Peacefully, surrounded by family at his home in Haliburton, Gib “got off the bus” on Thursday, September 17th, in his 98th year.
Husband of 63 years to Marie Mark (nee Schofield). Dad to Jonathan, Kelly (Wayne), and Patrick (Jennifer). “The Old Man” to his grandkids: Sydney, Kennedy, Avery, Tristan, and Charles. Gib was predeceased by his sisters Belva Foster & Ceci Shuren.
Raised in Kinmount, Gib loved the north and ended up coming full circle. His early days as a counselor at Pioneer Camp entrenched his love for the outdoors, which culminated in his discovery of Lipsy Lake in 1960. A long-standing memory maker for many friends and family.
Gib was a U of T Grad, B. Arch, class of ’55. There he met his partners to be and founded MMMC Architects in Brantford/Toronto. Great memories live on through all who knew him. It truly feels like the end of an era.
