George Wellington John Shepherd

After a life well lived, George Wellington John Shepherd went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 17, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. George was in his 84th year and leaves behind the love of his life, Valerie Shepherd (nee North). Married for 63 years, George and Valerie were the founders of Shepherd Environmental in Coboconk until their retirement in 2012. George was predeceased by his parents George and Mildred Shepherd of Bexley, and his sister Dorothy Walker (Ross). He was the loving father of Michelle (Chris), Heather (Allen) and Michael (Laura). He leaves a legacy for his 9 grandchildren, Elysha (Matt), Brandon (Sarah), Matt (Joanna), Whitney, Andrew (Hayley), Steven (Jenika), Nick, Tanner (Shelby) and Daniel (Lorelle). He was the beloved great grandpa (aka Paka) to Forest, River, Atlas, Paisley, Lincoln, Scarlett, Maisie, Harper, Sullivan, Walter, Benjamin and Ruby. Remembered fondly by his nephews Peter and Paul Walker and his brother and sister in-law, Ron and Janice Richman. George was a long-time resident of Coboconk. He served throughout his life as a board member of Faith Tabernacle, past member of the Lions Club, the Volunteer Fire Department, and many activities that supported the village over the years.

Celebration Of Life & Reception

Friends and family are invited to call at FAITH TABERNACLE  6 Albert St. Coboconk, Ontario for a Celebration of George's life on Sunday September 21, 2025 at 2 o'clock. A Reception will follow at the Coboconk Lions Hall 9 Grandy Road Coboconk, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Faith Tabernacle, Coboconk.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the COBOCONK COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 6644 Hwy. #35, Coboconk, Ontario (705) 454-3913.
