Gail Marie Scott

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gail Marie Scott announce her passing on Saturday March 22 2025 into the arms of her beloved Bill. Gail was a longtime resident of Haliburton and, more recently, a resident at the Gardens of Haliburton.

Gail is predeceased by her husband of 49 years William (Bill 1941-2010) and will be missed by her children Dale (Stephen) of Belleville, Deanna of Newmarket and Dean (Catharine) of Whitby. Sorely missed by her grand daughters Emalee, Aubre and Lillian. Predeceased by parents Norman & Phebe Shivas (Haliburton) and siblings Dawn and Barry.

Mom was active in the Haliburton community, volunteering with Seniors Link and finally knitting children's mitts for the Christmas drive at CanoeFM. Mom had knit over 2500 pairs of mitts over the past 11 years.

Born in Toronto in 1941, Gail spent her summers at the family cottage on Outlet Bay of Drag Lake. Summers in Haliburton continued well into the 1990's until retirement brought Bill and Gail permanently to Haliburton. Heartfelt thanks to dear family friend Merla Russell (and the Clive Girls). Merla, your friendship meant so much to Mom. Thanks to good family friend Cec Bailey. Many thanks to the staff and residents of the "Gardens". You all made Moms time there enjoyable for her. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Coles and staff. Thanks to Dr. Barbara Clive. Thank You to Roxanne and the Canoe FM Team, you kept Mom well supplied with wool.
 

Private Funeral Arrangements

As per Moms wishes there will not be any service. Cremation has occurred and a small family celebration of life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, a donation to Canoe FM may be made in Mom's memory.
