Peacefully surrounded by her family at Hyland Crest Longterm Care Home , Minden on May 9, 2025. She is fondly remembered by her children, Heather, Fay and Tom (Debbie) , her grandchildren and great grandchildren . She is predeceased by her infant son James , husband Jim and her parents William and Mary Davidson of Auldearn , Scotland . Betty was one of eleven children and is survived and remembered by four of her younger siblings, Doreen , Alison , Laura and George . Betty graduated from Nursing School in 1944 in Inverness , Scotland . She came to Canada as a war bride with her daughter in 1946 and went on to lead a full and happy life with her husband Jim in Haliburton. The family are grateful for Betty's excellent care at Hyland Crest over the past four and a half years . Many thanks to the staff and volunteers who were instrumental in allowing her independence to the very end .
Visitation & Memorial Service
Friends are invited to call at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705)457-9209 on Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025 for a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. (Visitation one hour prior). Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Haliburton. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
