Eileen Kay (Nee Twist) Obituary
Peacefully at Highland Wood in Haliburton on March 16, 2024, in her 93rd year.
Beloved wife of the late Ross Kay (1979). Eileen was the proud and loving mother of four sons, David (Brenda predeceased in 2024), Ron (predeceased 2011), Dan (Doreen), and Jim (Karen). Also survived by her much loved grandchildren Jason (Candice), Jennifer, Kelly (Mark), D.J. (Ally), Jacob (Kelsey), Katelin (Eric), and Karrie (Brandon). Dearly missed by 11 great grandchildren Caleb, Evan, Charlotte, Hayden, Maddie, Eva, Gavin, Callum, Laine, Hudson, and Sawyer. Remembered by her sister-in-law Bernice and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Much loved companion of the late Bruce Lehman.
Eileen was born in Toronto, on July 20, 1931. The only child of the late Fred and Edna Twist. She lived in the Whitby and Oshawa area most of her life and was currently a resident at Highland Wood LTC, Haliburton, Ontario.
Eileen started her working career in the office at Trafalgar Castle School (3 years). She was married in Whitby (1950) to the late Ross Kay (1979). Eileen was a stay at home mom for 13 years. Then on to work in an insurance adjusting office (2 years). She greatly enjoyed her working period for 25 years with the Durham District School Board (1965 - 1990). Also the fun association with the "Albert Street Group".
Celebration of Life
At Eileen's request, there will be no funeral service. A cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. As an expression donations may be made to your charity of choice if desired. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 13525 Hwy #118 Haliburton, Ontario 705-457-9209.
