Doreen Rae (nee Iles)

The Rae family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend at Extendicare Haliburton on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 88 years. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Jim and Dora Iles, her beloved husband Grant, brother Joe Iles, and sisters Valerie Moore and Dorell Iles.  Loving mother of Mike (Alison) and Scott (Sue); grandma of Kirsten (Jason Ouellette), Matt (Jessica), John (Katie) and great-grandma to Carter, Cash, Cooper and Stella. Doreen and Grant owned the Dominion Department store on the Main Street in Haliburton for many years. Doreen was a long-time employee of Haliburton IGA/Foodland. She loved to knit, quilt, and do jigsaw puzzles.  The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the care shown to Doreen by the dedicated staff of Extendicare Haliburton.

                                                                               Celebration Of Life

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join our family in a Celebration of Doreen’s Life to be held in THE COMMUNITY ROOM 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario on Thursday, August 1, 2024 to visit with the family from 1-3 pm.  As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to make a memorial donation, please consider the Extendicare Proud Pioneers or Food for Kids Haliburton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME  13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-9209.
