It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah "Debbie" Cormier (nee Waud), on March 8, 2025, at the age of 71. Debbie was born on May 7, 1953, to her parents Walter and Miriam Waud (predeceased). Debbie was the beloved wife of Johnny Cormier, with whom she shared 48 joyous years of marriage.
Debbie is remembered by her loving siblings: Diane (Jack), Lucy (Chris), and David (Denise). She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews; Rachel, Kristi (Matt), Louise, John, Scott (Brenda), Amo, and Kenny. She was predeceased by her nephew Taylor. Debbie will also be missed by her many many great nieces and nephews, who are too numerous to count. Debbie will also be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law Eliza (Joe), Louise (Paul), Yvonne (Gilbert), and brother-in-law Joe, as well as her good friends Edward and Shauna, whom she treated like her own family.
Debbie had a passion for life, and her many hobbies reflected her warm and vibrant personality. She enjoyed knitting, loved elephants and was an avid collector of Christmas Nutcrackers. Debbie was well-known for her love of decorating for the seasons, whether that was the holiday season or the Blue Jays season! She could often be found in the kitchen, cooking up delicious meals. She would proudly recount the story of cooking her first turkey at just 9 years old. Debbie had an infectious love for Oldies music and was a passionate fan of hockey and baseball. Debbie's loving spirit will be forever remembered by her family and friends. She brought joy to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
