It is with great love and sadness we announce that David Martin McKim passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on March 29, 1951, in Toronto, he was the youngest child born to Don and Elizabeth McKim, joining his older brother, Richard, and eldest sister, Donna.
David had an adventurous childhood alongside his close neighborhood friends, many of whom stayed close to him right up to his final days. He would often bring up fond memories with his closest friends, John Trainor, David Bass, Ian Macintosh, Jeff Quigg, and David Giuffrida.
David lived a very full and varied life, travelling the world, working many different jobs and disciplines, as well as reading and studying a wide range of subjects. During his tenure at Windreach Farms, he made lifelong friends such as Jennifer Watson-Crothers and is remembered for having influenced many others. David and his family loved the country life on their 103-acre farm just outside of Uxbridge. He often described this time with his family as the happiest of his life.
Commonly described as a renegade, David was never afraid to be unapologetically himself and to find his own unique way through life. He was an exceptional handyman capable of making things work with minimal information and loved to share what he learned with others.
He is fondly remembered by his ex-wife Lori, his son Luke, his daughter Donna and her husband Phil, his granddaughter Allison, his siblings Donna and Richard, and his many friends and family.
