Clayton Chapman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clayton Lang Chapman on August 24th, 2026, in his 71st year. Clayton was born on May 10th, 1955, in Toronto to his parents, Graham & Marion Chapman.

Beloved husband of Irena for over 26 years. Clayton was a loving and devoted father to his stepson,  Alexander, whom he dearly loved as if he were his own son.  Dear brother of Catherine (Paul) and John. Cherished uncle to Laurelle, John, and Joshua. Clayton is also lovingly remembered by his cousins: Barb and Sharon McGueys; Sharon, Glen, Susan, and Scot McMasters; Luke, Brock, and Tom Frazer; his Aunts Catherine McMaster, Beverley English, Phyllis MacDougall, and his Uncle Gordon Frazer (Bronwyn). Clayton was a cherished, long-time friend to Ralph Rosmarin and Irena's older children Kamila and Ross. 

Clayton loved golf, hockey, and especially the NTN Network Trivia Game. When he wasn't at home on Balsam Lake, one of his favourite places to be, you could often find him traveling and searching for his next perfect camping spot. Clayton was also an avid music fan throughout his life, even starting a band in high school. In his youth, Clayton attended King City High School; after graduation, he went on to attend the University of Waterloo. Graduating in the late 70s with a degree in Computer Science & Chemistry. Clayton will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Clayton's life will take place on September 20th, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH-519, 2916 County Rd. 48, Coboconk, Ontario K0M 2B0. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Clayton's honour can be made to Hospice Peterborough. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the COBOCONK COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 6644 Hwy. #35 Coboconk, Ontario K0M 1K0 (705) 454-3913.
