Christa Gebauer (nee Immel)

Born in Mainz, Germany, in the midst of a devastating time, Christa fought all the odds to persevere.
She and her husband Heinz immigrated to Canada in 1957 to start a new adventure. They embraced this country and made a life for themselves. Their daughter Brigitte was born in 1967 and was the light of her life.

Christa worked in various fields but her love of natural healing and metaphysical thought and practice led her to create her own business, Christa’s Health and Beauty Centre, where she shared her passions with her clients and her friends.

She was a fighter through and through. Fiercely intelligent, independent and an out of the box thinker and dreamer….some who knew her best described her as a force of nature with a huge heart. She was a kind spirit, a seeker of knowledge and a healer.

Her presence will be missed most by her daughter Brigitte Gebauer (Mark Roberts), her family back in Germany and all those who cherished her as a friend.

A special thank you to all those at the Adult Day Program and Highland Wood LTC who cared for her and took time to get to know the amazing person she was. May you always remember her fierce looks and huge smiles.

Private Arrangements & Reception

There will be a private function to celebrate Christa’s life. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Volunteer Dental Outreach for Haliburton County   https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/volunteer-dental-outreach-for-haliburton-county/ or Highland Wood Residents Council (this is a non-charitable donation which supports the residents in Highland Wood LTC to fund outings, functions, entertainment and staff appreciation).
