Bryan Hughes Obituary

Peacefully in Haliburton in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Josie, siblings Doug, Pauline, and John, and his beloved wife Elaine (Bennett.)

Bryan worked for the town of Newcastle, now the municipality of Clarington, in the 1980s as the Zamboni driver but he was also an avid hockey player while his knees would support him, enjoying men’s league and old-timers games. Later moving to the parks department, he proudly kept the cemeteries in order until his retirement in 2001.

Bryan was an avid golfer, even taking a job at the golf course with his brother John in their retirement. He enjoyed curling in his retirement and lawn bowling with his father-in-law and the seniors when he was a younger man. Bryan and Elaine volunteered with the Bowmanville Figure Skating Club for many years.

Bryan leaves behind his daughter Melanie, her husband Bill and his proud grandsons Thomas and Ryan, and siblings Dennis, Eileen, and Brent. Our sincere gratitude to the staff of Extendicare Haliburton for their compassionate care.
