Beverley May (nee MacKinnon) passed away at the age of 92 on September 1 2024 in Haliburton, Ontario where she resided at The Gardens of Haliburton for the last three years of her life. She is survived by her family – daughters, Carolyn and Diana; son-in-law, Don; grandchildren, Stephanie and David; great-grandson, Shane – and the friends she treasured.
Beverley spent the majority of her adult life living in Pointe Claire, Quebec, where she was an active member of the community, working as a nurse with the Ville Marie Social Services, belonging to the University Women’s Club, and volunteering in numerous capacities, including leading the LIP Grant activities for Pointe Claire and Beaconsfield to establish the first CLSC, participating in the launch of the Maywood Residence, and serving as a Board Member for the Lakeshore General Hospital Board of Directors. In her retirement, Bev was active as a volunteer in palliative care.
Private Funeral Arrangements
Funeral arrangements are private. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice or to support Bev’s favourite cause – palliative care, would be appreciated by the family.
