Barry Purpura


Peacefully at Haliburton Hospital on Friday, June 23, 2023, in his 85th year. Predeceased by his wife Elaine Purpura (nee Scott). Fondly remembered by Elaine's sons Scottie and Rod and her many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Samuel, Gertrude (nee Huggins), and sister Sandra Hummel (Neil). He will be missed by his nephew Brian Hummel, niece Denise Hummel and her son Joshua and her grandson Landon.  Barry loved to spend his time fishing and playing cards, especially Eucher. You could often find him at the Haliburton Legion.

Gathering & Graveside Service  


Friends are invited to call at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 129 - Haliburton, 719 Mountain St, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-2571 for a gathering on Sunday July 16, 2023, from 1 to 4 o'clock in the Club Room. A Graveside Service will be held at Maple Lake United Church Cemetery, Hwy 118 and Airport Rd Stanhope Haliburton, Ontario on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11 o'clock. As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #129 Haliburton would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457-9209.
