“Just be happy”. That’s what Barb would tell you in her 91 years of wisdom. She’ll be missed by her small but mighty family, daughter Joanne Brownsberger Bishop, SIL Steve Bishop (her absolute favorite), granddaughter Alisha, whose accomplishments as a woman and architect Barb is immensely proud of, grand SIL Gage Shelly, and “other” daughter Karen Scholz, plus fur babies, Lucy, Nyxy, & Agnes. Ok, she was super proud of all of us!
Barb had a wonderful life, growing up in Toronto, enjoyed several years as an usherette at Maple Leaf Gardens, where she thought Elvis was “meh”, but met the love of her life, Norm Brownsberger (1930-2009). They were early cottagers on Eagle Lake (1971 -thank you, Bob Bishop, for closing that deal), and made best friends with Mary & Hubert Scholz, sharing a lot of rum rum rum! The highlight was retirement in Florida, on the golf course, dances, card parties, watching Blue Jays games, & some great cruise vacations built in. At the end, she loved the Hali condo life, cards with the ladies, and bingo night was always fun.
As an only child of Scottish parents, she would not want anyone wasting money on cards, flowers, or planting trees in her memory; instead, please enjoy a martini & a good bottle of wine at home with a toast! We hope she’s forever dancing to Blue Spanish Eyes with Dad. Xo. Add that to your playlist!
