Anne Margaret Beatty (nee Harland)

With heavy hearts, the family of Anne Margaret Beatty announce her passing on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, in her 91st year. Born on November 9th, 1934, in Toronto, the only child of her parents, Jean and George Harland.

Beloved Wife of William “Bill” Beatty. Loving Mother of Margaret Anne (David - predeceased) and David Mervyn George (Trisha). She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Sarah and Sydney. 

Anne and Bill were married on September 4th, 1957, spending a blissful 68 years together. After a long-time career of over 20 years as a Medical Secretary working in various doctors’ offices and departments, Anne and Bill retired to Haliburton. It was here that she first tried her hand at making her own maple syrup, a hobby that would soon grow into a full-time business of its own. One of Anne's favourite pastimes was being toured around the lake by her very own personal Captain in their pontoon boat. When she wasn't on the water or making syrup, you could often find Anne in her garden. Never one to let herself be idle,  Anne had various other hobbies, including intarsia woodworking.

Anne’s warmth, love for life, and ability to bring joy to those around her will never be forgotten. She will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

Visitation & Funeral Service

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 13523 Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario K0M 1S0 (705) 457-9209 for a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation one hour prior. An interment will take place following the Service at Evergreen Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
